The covers are finally coming off The Unveiling, the debut LP from MarQ Spekt and Karniege as the Invizzibl Men. The result is a ferociously hard rap record bristling with gunmetal beats and lyrics still dripping spray-paint. The collaboration might be new but the duo has earned their stripes as solo artists; Karniege did a stint on the Definitive Jux roster, dropping the memorable ‘Make News’ 12”, toured the world with Vast Aire several times over and kept his name ringing in the underground by popping up on projects by everyone from DJ Ese to Dub L to the Reavers as well as forming Mighty Joseph with Vast Aire. MarQ Spekt ‘s lineage is equally storied if a little grimier; signed to the legendary Subverse Records alongside artists like MF DOOM and the Micranauts, prominently featured on all of Bigg Jus of Company Flow’s solo albums, the brain behind the streetwise Broady Champs’ ’05 debut… Spekt has already cemented his place in the underground pantheon without stepping out of the shadows, until now. Guests on The Unveiling include Cannibal Ox, C-Rayz Walz, billy woods (of Super Chron Flight Brothers), and the Broady Champs.

Vordul Mega is one half of Cannibal Ox, a group that despite releasing only one album remains among the most heralded rap groups of this millennium. Megagraphitti is his second solo album and a full 7 years in the making. Recording was begun in 2000, suspended for the Cold Vein, resumed, then suspended again for the recording of what would become his first album Revolution of Yung Havoks. Now this future classic is finally completed; spanning the breadth of an era in the New York underground. The extremely personal record features production from El-P, Bronze Nazareth, Sid Roams, Bond, Ravage as well as features from Cannibal Ox, Tommy Gunn (Megalon of Monsta Island Czars), billy woods (of Super Chron Flight Brothers) and the Invizzbl Men (Marq Spekt & Karniege).

When one thinks of legendary hip hop icons from New Jersey, the name Tame One has to come to mind. As a member of the mid-’90’s group “The Artifacts”, Tame One and partner El Da Sensei became household names in the underground hip hop movement. The pair released their debut album, “Between A Rock & A Hard Place”, which included the single “Wrong Side Of The Tracks”, an ode to graffiti art. After going their seperate ways Tame released his debut solo effort “When Rappers Attack” followed up by the critically-acclaimed “O.G. Bobby Johnson” album.
Tame has collaborated with artists such as Busta Rhymes, Redman, Mos Def and KRS-One. With his newest offering, “Da Ol’ Jersey Bastard”, Tame One hooks up with leading independent label Amalgam Digital. The new album includes the street-bangers “Catch Me” featuring Del The Funky Homosapien and “Haha Da Rah Rah” featuring Sean Price. For all the Tame One fans who have patiently been waiting for a new album, the wait is over. Mr Hyde returns to tear the throat out of the Hip Hop music scene with his second full-length album “Chronicles of the Beast Man.” As a core member of the Psycho+Logical-Records family, Mr Hyde has been pulling double duty as a solo hip hop artist and a hype man for Necro while out on tour. His solo debut “Barn of the Naked Dead” and work as a member of hip hop super-group Circle of Tyrants (Also featuring Necro, Ill Bill, Goretex) established Mr Hyde as one of the most brutal hardcore hip hop artists in the world today.
Born in Elmhurst, Queens, N.Y. in1978, Mr Hyde originally was on the path to become a professional boxer, competing in amateur fights and even advancing into the Golden Gloves semi-finals. Hip Hop was always a close second and became his main obsession/profession in 1997, when he met upcoming producer/rapper, Necro outside a show at Nuyorican Poet’s cafe. The two bonded over their interest in boxing, horror flicks and hip hop. Necro was so impressed Mr Hyde’s rhyming skills that he produced his Mr Hyde’s debut album and released it on his own Psycho+Logical-Records.
Now in 2008, Mr Hyde is ready to bring all the brutality of an exploitation movie with the realness of the streets. Are you prepared for Chronicles of the Beast Man?

An incredible new project from Carlos Nino — a hip hop effort, but one that’s got the same deeply spiritual vibe as his jazz productions! Lyrics and vocals are by Lil Sci, who appears to be a great companion for Nino on this unique musical journey — and the music is from Carlos and other members of his cosmic jazz posse — including Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Ammoncontact, and The Life Force Trio! Most tracks have a mix of live instrumentation and beats, but in a way that’s got the same depth as Nino’s work with Build An Ark — and the record features guest performances from Dwight Trible, Nate Morgan, and Tiffany Paige. Titles include “Freedom” — a great remake of Pharoah Sanders’ classic “We Gotta Have Freedom” — plus “Constant”, “Love Hugs & Hip Hop Soul”, “The Right Song”, “The Natural/Scriptures”, “Higher”, “Circulate”, and “What’s the Science”.
